Greece – Letter from H. Hadjimichelakis, P. Masouras, K.Karakatsani

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother;

William Shakespeare

Henry V

At midday of 1st of November G.Tsakalos and P. Argyroy were arrested in the Pagrati area. The two arrested appear to have organised the sending of letter-bombs to the embassies of Mexico, Chile, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Bulgaria and France as well as to Nicholas Sarkozy, Silvio Berlusconi, Angela Merkel, the European Court, Europol and Eurojust.

This was followed by the well-known panel of TV-judges, once again in the front line of the propaganda war against arrested rebels. The characterizations “morbid minds” and “psychopathic bloodthirsty criminals” accompanied photographs of those arrested together with the phone numbers of the anti-terrorist police for anonymous calls and safe snitching. The memories of a junta that never left, awake in modern urban democracy, prompting conscientious – without conscience – citizens to function as grasses and to hurry to give names of those who by any chance disown silent subjugation and stand proud and gallant against every compromise.

Those who in the era of laziness, of colourless choices, snitching, weak-minded complicity, the meaningless consumption of intellectual and material garbage that manifests itself as happiness, propose against it factual rupture, constant remorseless war, powerful conscience, the struggle against modern morals, critical analytical thought and radical revolutionary action.

Those who refuse to place themselves in the hands of the mob that is to blame for what modern civilization has been reduced to.

Those who refuse to have their lives determined by a bunch of ridiculous charlatans, who behind their axiomatic titles of politician, judge, public prosecutor, journalist, cop but also shipowner or building contractor only hide the adoration of mammon (a term, derived from the christian bible, used to describe material wealth or greed) and the thirst for power.

Those who still refuse to be included in the thousands of drowsy tv-infested householders who via a life drowned in loans, tolerance, decadence and indisposition find themselves in the trance of unfeasible social evolution and remain inactive and finally accomplices in the crimes of sovereignty.

Those who make the decision to follow the way of daily revolt, take their lives in their own hands, walk with honour, dignity and courage to the end, to the revolution. A revolution that passes through the choice of urban guerrilla warfare. The organized and orchestrated attack against the modern political-economic regime. A political choice of rupture and at the same time a revolutionary process of self-realization that claims the characteristics of consequence, organization, planning and naturally constant radical insurrectional activity. To questions, if finally we can possibly bear it, we answer as revolutionaries with a constant diaphanous attitude through our speech transformed into action.

The answer is addressed first of all to ourselves. It is the answer itself whose airwave throws fear to the sack. Won’t there be new comrade fighters each one of whose journey will make us feel a break in our chains? Who will come like fellow fighters, pound mercilessly and break the bars?

Or will there not come the moment when again with comrades we will pull for the battlefield in order that our songs be again a deluge of glass…

So let’s stand next to our comrades for as long as fate and time allows us.

Let’s stand next to them and, clean and wild, let’s take a breathe of freedom.

OUR COMRADES ARE NOT ALONE

FREEDOM TO URBAN GUERRILLAS G.TSAKALOS AND P. ARGIROU
