Diffondiamo, in italiano e inglese, un breve resoconto inviatoci dai compagni e dalle compagne di War on Society, utile per fare il punto sulle recenti mosse repressive del governo degli Stati Uniti a danno di diverse individualità anarchiche nel corso delle ultime settimane.

Nei territori degli Stati Uniti, c’è stato un forte incremento della repressione statale contro gli anarchici già dal 1° maggio. E’ chiaro che essa è contraddistinta dalla strategia usata per combattere la crescente ferocia e consistenza dell’attività anarchica e coincide inoltre con gli attacchi verificatisi il primo maggio ovunque e al summit della NATO a Chicago la scorsa settimana.

A Cleveland, Ohio, una trappola del FBI ha coinvolto cinque anarchici poco prima del 1 maggio. Anthony Hayne, Brandon Baxter, Connor Stevens, Douglas Writght e Joshua Stafford (i “Cleveland 5″) sono stati arrestati e accusati di “cospirazione e tentato uso di materiale esplosivo per danneggiare proprietà fisiche riguardanti il commercio interstatale”. Essi sono accusati di aver pianificato un attacco esplosivo contro un ponte e attacchi contro il summit NATO e la Convention Repubblicana Nazionale questa estate in Florida. Poco dopo il primo maggio e due attacchi incendiari contro una banca a Portland, Oregon, lo squat dove Bryan “Pax” Wiedeman viveva viene sgomberato dalla polizia e del materiale elettronico viene sequestrato. Lui viene arrestato e accusato di 72 crimini di distruzione di proprietà e cospirazione per commettere distruzione di proprietà. La maggioranza di queste accuse sono cadute, ma ne rimangono ancora 8, essendo accusato di aver preso parte a 4 attacchi separati contro banche e bancomat nella zona di Portland. Durante il summit NATO a Chicago, Illinois, della scorsa settimana, cinque anarchici sono stati arrestati con accuse di terrorismo e possesso di esplosivi. Brent Betterly, Jared Chase e Brian Church ( i “NATO 3″), tutti della Florida, sono accusati di “possesso di dispositivi incendiari o esplosivi, cospirazione per commettere terrorismo e fornitura di supporto materiale per terrorismo”. Sono accusati di aver fatto molotov e di aver detto di pensare di usarle per attaccare caserme, sedi del Partito Democratico, e la casa del sindaco durante il Summit NATO. Sono stati incastrati da un agente di polizia sotto copertura o informatore. Sono tenuti in totale isolamento in carcere dal loro arresto avvenuto circa una settimana fa.

Nello stesso periodo, Mark “Migs” Neiween, un anarchico di Chicago attivo nella Anarchist Black Cross, è stato arrestato e accusato di “tentato possesso di dispositivi incendiari o esplosivi”. E’ accusato di aver chiesto a un tipo che era un agente sotto copertura o informatore di voler acquistare esplosivi. Inoltre, Sebastian Senakiewicz è stato arrestato e accusato di “fare una falsa minaccia di terrorismo”. E’ accusato di aver detto a un tipo che era un agente sotto copertura o informatore di avere dell’esplosivo. La polizia ha perquisito la sua casa senza trovare nulla. Tutti e cinque gli anarchici arrestati a Chicago sono stati incastrati da due informatori della polizia che si sono infiltrati nei circoli anarchici a Chicago prima del summit.

In the territories of the United States, there has been a great increase of state repression against anarchists since May 1st. It is clear that this repression is marked in a strategy to combat the growing ferocity and consistency of anarchist activity and also to coincide with the attacks expected on May Day everywhere and at the NATO summit in Chicago this past week.

In Cleveland, Ohio, an FBI trap was sprung on five anarchists just before May 1st. Anthony Hayne, Brandon Baxter, Connor Stevens, Douglas Writght and Joshua Stafford (the “Cleveland 5″) were arrested and charged with ”conspiracy and attempted use of explosive materials to damage physical property affecting interstate commerce.” They are accused of planning to attack with explosives a bridge, as well as to make attacks against the NATO summit and the Republican National Convention this summer in Florida. They were set up by an FBI informant. Just following May Day and two incendiary attacks on a bank in Portland, Oregon, the squat where Bryan “Pax” Wiedeman lived was raided by police and a variety of electronics were seized. He was arrested and charged with 72 felony crimes of property destruction and conspiracy to commit property destruction. Most of these charges were dropped, but he is still charged with 8 crimes, accused of participating in 4 separate attacks on banks and ATMs in the Portland area. He is a well-known anarchist comrade in Portland. He has been released on bail, and his support site is freepax.org

During the NATO summit in Chicago, Illinois last week, five anarchists were arrested on terrorism and explosives charges. Brent Betterly, Jared Chase and Brian Church (the “NATO 3″), all from Florida, are each charged with “possession of incendiary or explosive device, conspiracy to commit terrorism & providing material support for terrorism.” They are accused of making molotovs and of saying that they planned to use them to attack police stations, a Democratic Party campaign office, and the mayor’s home during the NATO summit. They were set up by an undercover police officer or informant. They have been held in total isolation cells in jail since their arrest one week ago.

During the same period of time, Mark “Migs” Neiween, an anarchist from Chicago who has been active in the Anarchist Black Cross, was separately arrested and charged with “attempted possession of explosive or incendiary devices.” He is accused of asking someone who was an undercover police officer or informant to acquire explosives. Also, Sebastian Senakiewicz was separately arrested and charged with “falsely making a terrorist threat.” He is accused of telling someone who was an undercover police officer or informant that he had explosives. Police raided and searched his home and found nothing. All five of the anarchists arrested in Chicago were set up by two police informants who infiltrated anarchist circles in Chicago before the summit.
